24.11.2011 - Confirmed for ExtremeFest
In the meantime, here's what the festival wrote about us:
"True Norwegian Balkans Black Metal"! Sounds pretty crazy, but it's totally hot! The band TROLLFEST consists of different musicians of bands such as Urgehal, Pantheon I, Untime, Melch, Hallucinations, Powersword and Sarkom and its aim is to conquer the world by brutal metal, enriched with manifold instruments like accordion, banjo and saxophone. Their newest tool for realizing this is called "En Kvest For Den Hellige Gral", an album that doesn't leave any wishes or questions. TROLLFEST make music to bring fun into the wild pagan universe. A must for all metal-fans - no matter which genre you guys prefer, TROLLFEST rule them all!
For us it's off to the studio again, where things are going pretty damn good! Check our blog for frequent status updates!

01.11.2011 - Heidenfest Aftermath
As we ramble, we also rumble and rehearse like madmen on new, even wilder, even funnier songs that we are already dying to share with you fellow trolls.
Anyways, once again thanks for the tremendous support and hope to see you all again soon!

23.08.2011 - New promotional video out for Heidenfest
As Trollmannen says so well in the video: Hope to see you there!

02.08.2011 - WANT TO ASK US SOMETHING? NOW YOU CAN - AND WE'LL ANSWER ON TROLLFEST TV
So. Our Grand Plan is this. Anyone who wants to ask us questions can email them to us at info@trollfest.com (this is a special email, just for your questions), and when we have enough questions we will film a video of ourselves answering them and post it on TrollfesT TV at http://www.youtube.com/oivan.
We don't mind what you ask us. You can ask us fun questions or serious questions, or whatever questions fit in between fun and serious. If you want to ask a particular TrollfesT member something, no problem, let us know who it is you would like to answer your question and we'll make sure he does. And don't worry, if you don't want us to mention your name, just tell us and we won't.
What do you all think of that fellow Trolls? Anyone up for it? If you are, questions to info@trollfest.com please.
Looking forward to hearing from you all.

"En Kvest For Den Hellige Gral" will be TROLLFEST's fourth full-length album, and promises to build on the band's penchant for the inclusion of unusual instruments, and the use of traditional folk rhythms from Norway and the Balkans, mixed with pure head banging metal. With line up whose members have a wealth of experience with bands like URGEHAL, PANTHEON I, UNTIME, MELCH, SARKOM, HALLUCINATIONS and POWERSWORD, both live and in the studio, TROLLFEST relishes the reputation it has gathered over the years for barnstorming live performances where both the band and the audience have an equally good time. According to the band "December is the time of year when everyone is out to have some fun, with parties all over the place, so when we were offered a German tour during this period, in the company of some great bands, we jumped at the chance. As you can imagine, we're very much looking forward to playing some of the new material live and getting a few celebratory rounds in with our fans".

19.10.2010 - SHOP EARLY FOR CHRISTMAS AND HELP FEED THE HUNGRY TROLLS
So how about checking it all out at http://trollfest.bigcartel.com (You'll also get there by pusing the MERCH button from our very own forest!). And while you're there you might just find something to appeal to that "hard to shop for" person on your Christmas/Birthday list. Come on guys, wouldn't the special lady in your life look better in a TrollfesT hoodie, instead of the usual sexy silk lingerie? OK. Maybe that's not quite the sales pitch we were aiming at, but it sure as hell will keep her warm.
At the moment there are T's, hoodies and patches available directly from us, as well as different T's, hoodies, patches and CDs from the other retailers (but if you buy directly from us, you help to feed us. Maybe not feed, exactly. More like, stop us getting too dehydrated).
We currently have a special "clearance" price on the Brakeboner Condoms because the "use by date" has expired, so we definitely don't advise you to use them for the purpose they were intended. However, if you were to leave them scattered around your bedroom, or have them "accidentally" fall out of your wallet when you're on the pull, no one could fail to be impressed by the tasteful artwork on the packaging. We must, of course, point out that no individual member of TrollfesT posed for the artwork. Although, having said that, it probably wouldn't do any of us any harm if people were to think that we did!
And don't forget, you can catch us live in Germany in December along with PANTHEON I, FINSTERFORST and UNLIGHT. This is where we'll be:
Fri 17 - Klangstation, Bonn
Sat 18 - Black Troll Winterfest,Eisenberg
Sun 19 - HSK, Cottbus
Mon 20 - TBA, Berlin
Tue 21 - TBC
Wed 22 - Rock It, Aalen

TrollfesT Out
27.09.2010 - TROLLFEST ON TRUE NORWEGIAN BALKAN METAL AND THE SERIOUSNESS OF BEING UNSERIOUS
Guitarist Mr Seidel and bass player PsychoTroll of Norway's TROLLFEST were recently interviewed in their home town of Oslo, by journalist Andrea Chirulescu for Romania's Studio Rock webzine. This is the first time that the band, with three full-length releases and an EP under its belt, has explained in-depth about the decision to merge Black Metal with traditional Norwegian and Balkan music, plus any other sound world-wide that took their fancy, into a style that they define, a little tongue in cheek it has to be said, as "True Norwegian Balkan Metal".
Whilst the members of TROLLFEST are drawn from Black and Extreme Metal stalwarts such as URGEHAL, PANTHEON I, UNTIME, MELCH, SARKOM, HALLUCINATIONS and POWERSWORD, the philosophy of TROLLFEST is firmly rooted in the principle that the band is there to have fun doing what it does, and make sure that the fans have just as much, if not more fun, listening to, and watching the band, doing it. As they explain in the interview TROLLFEST is serious about being unserious, and that's why you will find idiosyncratic elements in the band's music, such as the iron duck that became popular with the fans, and why the band are relieved that they didn't opt to call themselves the Devil's Dangleberries.
TROLLFEST is currently looking for a label to release the newly finished fourth full-length album "En Kvest For Den Hellige Gral", and a track from the album is streaming on the band's MySpace page at http://www.myspace.com/trollfest. Excerpts from the Studio Rock interview appear below, and the full version can be found at http://studiorock.ro/interviews/trollfest-interview-6/
"SR: So, let's start talking about why do you have the word "Balkan" in the description of your music style? Is it True Norwegian Balkan music? Or True Norwegian Black Balkan music? Trolls: We're kind of fucking with True Norwegian Black Metal. We're trying to figure out ourselves what is so true and Norwegian about the Balkan music but it still hasn't happened, but still what we're making is very true Norwegian and it's still Balkan.
SR: Where's the Balkan idea coming from? Trolls: From the first songs we made we wanted to add something extra to TrollfesT and I don't know why we didn't have it from the very beginning, even if Balkan has always been very inspiring. We started using some German oompah rhythms into black metal and then thought why not Balkan rhythms. Also our drummer is listening a lot to that kind of music and his father is playing it. After we did "Willkommen Folk Tell Drekka Fest", we kinda wanted to make even more crazy music and the crazy Balkan folk addition seemed like a great idea. So we made "Villanden" and we were quite happy with it back then, but even that was not Balkan enough. While on the new album, there's even more of it. So it is even more Balkan. And Norwegian. And it's true. It's a new album.
SR: What's the story of the duck? Trolls: Oh my God, I don't know. He's crazy. We were at the preproduction of the album, "Villanden", it was actually the song with the same name. And in the middle of that song there was a melody that our drummer was playing on the trumpet and we started laughing since ... it reminded us of this duck in an old cartoon series that was on children's TV when we were young ... And we just imagined having a duck as the cover because it's so retarded."
SR: What's the story of TrollfesT, as band name. I read on your page that you guys started with Finntroll as your main inspiration. Trolls: Yea, me (Mr. Seidel) and the vocalist really loved drinking and listening to Finntroll and we had this drinking game as well that was also about Finntroll. And when we started to make music, we wanted it to be fun party music, just like we considered Finntroll to be. And when you sing about trolls and want to make party music, you just add up the two words. We basically had this name and another option, The Devil's dangle berries (you know, the sheep's poo that gets stuck into their fur) But I'm kinda happy we went for TrollfesT, to be honest.
SR: What about Norwegian folklore and trolls? How much do you take from that for your music? Trolls: It is kind of the reason we choose to look towards Balkans. We've seen so many people trying to copy the Norwegian folk music and metal and there is something very Norwegian that they don't fully catch in their music.
SR: How's your relationship with the fans at the shows? Trolls: We actually enjoy playing in smaller venues, where the audience is closer to us and it's much easier to get into the atmosphere. Then we really love to party with them after the concerts. It's so cool to meet the people who like the music, and we are really honoured to meet them. We get free drinks, that's why we do it. Don't write that down else people will just start coming with beer and asking us to pay for it. But actually we only started all this for fun and made some songs which we put on a website so we can download them at our parties and have fun on them. And a German label managed to stumble upon this unpublished website and they asked us for some rehearsals recording. We obviously had none. That's how it started and we're still doing it for fun.
SR: So what's the goal for now? Trolls: To just keep having fun, go out, meet people. We love meeting people who love to have the same madness as we do. We have been amazed by the crowd at every concert we've been. They're singing, they know the fucking songs, even better than us and it's scary. But most of all we will go on being very serious about how unserious we are. And maybe get some TrollfesT tattoos".
